Creating community-led, accessible events is at the heart of everything we do.
Our goal as community builders is to bring success to the West End Neighborhood by improving the well-being of the community and increasing the quality of life by providing equitable engagement opportunities.
Events
Identified as a priority in the West End Speaks Neighborhood Plan, The Neighborhood House brings regular community programming to the West End Neighborhood. Our events provide accessible, family friendly events in partnership with various dedicated community partners. Learn more about our events that help bring the West End to life:

Ezz Fest
Ezz Fest is held annually in October at Ezzard Charles Park that celebrates the life and legacy of West End Hero and Boxing Legend, Ezzard Charles.

West End Business Festival
The Neighborhood House revived the West End Business Festival in 2023. The annual event celebrates small businesses in our community and gives them a platform to promote and sell merchandise.

Summer Park Events
Our Family Fun Series with the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, Pop Up and Play with CET/PBS, and collaborations with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra all serve to activate West End park spaces during the summer and provide accessible events for the community.

Live on Linn
Our Live on Linn series is a monthly event series that activates the Tot Lot on Linn to bring resources and fun to the community.

Holiday Events
Our West End Tree Lighting, Toy Giveaway and Winter Wonderland events support and connect the West End community during the holiday season.

Black History Month Event
Our annual Black History Month event celebrates and honors those who have paved the way for progress, and those in our community.

Community Collaborations

West End Speaks
In 2016, The Neighborhood House led the effort to create “West End Speaks,” or the West End Neighborhood Plan. The West End Speaks Plan was led by community members and reflects hundreds of volunteer hours committed to developing the plan. After months of conversations, surveys and planning, the West End Speaks Plan identified 18 goals across seven themes of focus: Business, Clean, Community, Employment, Housing, Safety, and Youth and Educations. Each theme has one or more goals, as well as the strategies needed to accomplish these goals.
Community Safety
In June of 2022 three neighborhood groups, Avondale Development Corporation (ADC), Price Hill Will (PHW), and Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses, came together to learn the SafeGrowth philosophy of working from the bottom up to address the root of crime in their areas.

Placemaking and Beautification
The Neighborhood House has been leading efforts to beautify Linn Street with colorful planters, place-making totems, gateway signs, and bus-wrap clings, which work to create cohesion and celebrate the West End’s rich history and bright future.
