The Trauma Recovery Center of Cincinnati

Our Purpose

Access: We link people to vital services, especially those in underserved communities who may struggle to access support.

Voice: We stand by victims, giving them a voice and support as they move forward after experiencing victimization.

Forward-focused: We empower individuals to find their strengths, build coping skills, and embrace a purposeful life, ready to tackle challenges and look ahead with hope.

The TRC helps victims identify their root causes of trauma and challenges and helps them address barriers to healing as well as prevent future victimization.

Many victims have been surrounded by violence all their lives. Like an onion effect, the TRC helps ‘peel the layers’ to allow healing.

TRCC services are offered to individuals with:

  • Violent crime and domestic violence-related trauma
  • Other violence-related trauma
  • Acute and chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Low self-esteem
  • Depression/anxiety

How the TRCC works:

  • The TRCC receives referrals from the Cincinnati Police Departments, hospitals, and many other partners
  • We contact and offer our services to those referred and those that walk in
  • We document clients’ medical histories, history of violence, etc. to support care planning
  • We create a Care Plan and implement the plan together
  • We evaluate progress over time, making additional referrals to our partners as needed

Our Supporters

Thanks to our many supporters, Seven Hills Neighborhood House, our parent organization, has been able to obtain and begin renovating a new building to house the TRCC and support the healing of trauma victims. We are reaching out to ask for additional support to allow us to finish the renovations and outfit and activate the new building so we can finally start providing our services to victims in the Center’s new home.
